State Tourism Budgets Might be in Jeopardy

With 36 states voting for new governors in the coming months, voters will also be deciding on what’s next for the state’s tourism budgets. With state tourism boards already fighting for their existence, justifying higher spending won’t be an easy feat. In the past, tourism budgets have been able to bounce back after a recession, but due to state budgets themselves slowing down, the tourism industry has not seen that same post-recession growth in recent years.
