Snapchat’s AR Ads Lures Smaller Advertisers

Snapchat has lowered their pricing on their augmented reality (AR) advertising, allowing more brands to take advantage of the platform. Advertisers can now pay as little as $10k for a spot in the main carousel of filters if it is for a targeted audience, allowing Snap to expand their marketing and ideas to clients that they otherwise would not have. This opportunity has led to some brands to get creative with AR advertising, such as using Snapcodes to allow customers to purchase a product. While many advertisers are looking at Instagram, a lower price is drawing some attention back to Snapchat. (Digiday, 11.12.18)
