Robots Head to Las Vegas

Technology is changing everything, including the gaming and hospitality industries. More and more hotels and casinos in Las Vegas are implementing robotic technology in their properties, hoping for a more precise experience for their guests. This is a big shift, as “two thirds of all jobs in Las Vegas will most likely be automated by 2035.”

While there is a concern about job opportunities because of automation, many are pointing out that the human element will always be necessary. They are still needed to “customize” the guest’s experience, while also operating these robots. The jobs for people are not gone, instead they’re different because of automation. (NPR, 10.7.18)
