Netflix Use Ties with Pay TV Use

A recent study from PricewaterhouseCoopers found that the streaming audience is growing to record levels. Nearly three-quarters (73%) subscribe to Pay TV, down from 76% last year and 79% the year before. And, 73% indicated they subscribe to Netflix—the same number as Pay TV subscribers. The study also found that consumers are overwhelmed by the amount of TV options and report having four services on average but only use two on a regular basis. Eight in ten sports fans would end or trim their Pay TV subscription if they no longer needed it to access live sports. (PWC, 12.19.17)
