Communicating Conservation

PGAV recently released its second issue of Destinology this year—Communicating Conservation. In partnership with H2R, 1,006 consumers were surveyed to get information on the perception of conservation and the role of zoos and aquariums. The study found that the care of the animals is the top priority among the public—more than conservation efforts. The report also details the public’s sensitivity to habitat design and the preference for “cute” mammals over reptiles and amphibians. And, when it comes to learning about conservation, consumers are far more interested in interactive learning tools and experiences with animals/keepers than passive information like news articles. Check out the full report for more insights on consumers’ perceptions and how zoos and aquariums can become even more effective. (PGAV Destinations, 7.15.17)
