Gas Prices Slated to Fall

Gas prices are expected to be lower this Fourth of July than they were on New Year’s Day. According to GasBuddy, this is the first time that’s happened since they started tracking prices 17 years ago. Typically gas costs around 47 cents more on July 4 compared to the previous January 1, but prices are diving this year thanks to global oil prices contracting. “GasBuddy is projecting a nationwide average of $2.21 per gallon on July 4, which would be 12 cents lower than the price at the year's inception,” said Nathan Bomey of USA Today. “That's also the lowest price on Independence Day since 2005.” (USA Today, 6.27.17)
