More Americans Are Camping

Kampgrounds of America (KOA) recently released a report that concluded more Americans are going camping. KOA estimates nearly 37 million Americans camped in 2016, and one-third of those went camping three or more times. According to the report, Millennials tend to be avid campers and are more likely to enjoy camping in a large group. And, the future looks bright among Gen Z campers, with 90% saying they intend to camp as adults. While campers enjoy reduced stress, not all campers completely cut the cord. Most (95%) bring technology with them, and WiFi is an important feature for half. However, teens tend to check social media while adults are more likely to check e-mails. (TravelPulse, 3.19.17)
