American Vacation Planning Spikes

The latest Conference Board report states 63.5% of Americans plan to take a vacation in the next six months—jumping 11 points and reaching the highest level since 1978. Almost half of those plan to travel within the United States. The spike is a result from high consumer optimism concerning a low unemployment rate and a booming stock market reaching record highs. Though, not all Americans feel the same. Those earning $25k-$35k have a confidence score of only 105.9—quite the contrast from those earning $125k+ who hold a score of 160.9. (CNN Money, 10.31.17)
